Have you seen those restaurants that on the menu it reads,
Hamburger, Donuts, Chinese food, and more.
I have always wondered, why? And those are the places that, it doesn't matter what you choose, it is not going to be good. But it is funny, that is totally how I am feeling today!
I just want to do it all!
Which means that nothing really great is coming out of anything that I am doing.
Wish me luck in finding my specialty.

Another
Before and After...
I always put my after first because I just can't wait to show you...
so it should really be After and before but that sounds funny.

This one is a little different because I tried it shooting in raw. At first I hated it because I had no idea what I was doing, and my version of photoshop couldn't do a whole lot with it. I am currently demoing CS5 which is really bad because I want it A LOT now. But this is what I was able to do in raw with a few other things. I kind of over edited it, but I think it is fun. Pretty awesome.

I want to do something fun like this in my house. But where and what I don't know.

After Before
I am trying to get better at getting the perfect lighting. Which is pretty much the whole thing to photography. I have been walking around my house trying to find the good spots for light. Which is pretty hard. Though we live in a house, we might as well be living in apartments with how close the houses are. But the dining room seems to have the best light. This is my before and after. This is just showing my progress with trying to keep things natural.

So I am practicing like crazy. Trying to figure things out. Reading lots. And I am starting to feel like I am hitting a wall. I need to do something more. Not quit sure what that is, I am begging Shaun to let me go to this workshop in Provo but it is really expensive. The more I learn about photography, the more I realize, I NEED MORE MONEY!

Ok so it is Sunday afternoon. We just had a lesson in Relief Society about learning. We talked about sometimes we put off learning because we are intimidated or lazy or scared. Well you could say that about me when I came to learning how to use photoshop. Slowly I am starting to get the hang of things, but today with my new found courage I learned how to use the pen tool, or path tool. Not as hard as I made it out to seem, still difficult remember some of the funny things about it, but I had fun. So this is my very first silhouette. It is not perfect, her hair in the back is a little crazy looking, but I am proud of myself that I took the time to learn it. I am excited to practice and keep trying to get better.

SOOC
After

Go to this site to see a video tutorial on enhancing eye color using layer masks that I thought was really helpful. http://www.screencast.com/users/PhotographyHaven/folders/Default/media/43d7650c-e7b7-4a9f-b289-5c54fb6bc446
I also am learning the importance of color balance and selective color. Can you see a differnec?

So last night we headed over to the park to take some pictures for KD's 3rd birthday party invitation. I am super excited. Really we were there to practice. I am doing a photo shoot for some friends today, my first real one you could say, and I am so nervous. Like butterflies in my stomach nervous. Anyways, this one I thought KD girl was so cute in I had to share. Then I will get back to work on finishing all my pictures from vacation. Which I am starting to think won't get done with this new work load I got and we are moving this weekend. Don't kid yourself I am not stressed at all I am just so happy to be busy. I am loving all this practice and I just can't wait to get settled into our new place. WISH ME LUCK!

Our Favorite Cousin
Check out coffeeshop for an action for rounded corners. This is awesome. only can use in photoshop or photoshop elements
played around with color balance to increase the white
Gave a warm filter over the picture, when I first saw it I liked how it defined the sand but compared to the first I think I like it better.
This last one is SOOC

Trying to find that professional sweet spot when it comes to editing.
THE TOMs
We love you guys and had so much fun, can't wait till the 4th.

While we were there I took a lot of pictures of the TOMs (the other Mengs) They are so cute and JT is so patient with me while I mess around with my camera trying to get the best shot. Thanks guys for letting me practice. Before they left town Kali and I did some photoshopping on these pictures so I wanted to post them for her.

sunset without filter (top)
sunset with filter (bottom) if you look close you can see a surfer
I am not sure which one I like better.

Words can't fully express the beauty of this town. I was so excited to see GREEN! And WATER!
So some of these aren't the best because they are taken through the window of a moving car. But I did my best.

Beach
Showcasing the hotel
It was a greek theme that made me feel as if I was vacationing on the Mediterranean
which was awesome and perfect and I loved it!

I had so much fun at the beach. Not just because it was the beach but I was able to take pictures of beautiful things. Everything was so calm and just beautiful. Looking at these photos just make me smile.

One more of my silly girl with her funky smile.
Love that kid.
Showing some love for my little Lady...
..
This is for my mom. She likes this kind of stuff so I thought I would give it a try at spelling words from random things you see that can be perceived as letters.

Still trying to keep it Natural
