Textures
I am still learning
So these are what I worked on today with textures. No where near professional. It is harder to catch on than other things I have learned. well this is mostly for me to prove to my husband that I did something today. RRR one of those days where I don't feel I got much done.
Edited
I couldn't tell you what i did it has been a long day

lens flares
All of these are of KD because Gavin was asleep during the photoshoot. I am not sure which model I prefer. Now that Gavin is crawling he is quite difficult to work with, but KD wants to take her turn with the camera and look at each picture when ever the flash goes off. She is pretty funny with her little pretend camera. She likes to pose me and then tell me to say cheese. She will look at her pretend picture and say "oh cute!" She is oh so cute.

YES this is straight off the camera, no edits done. ok so when i saw this i was so proud of myself. I have been working on getting the right amount of light to get a good sunflare and i was able to capture several good shoots. this on was captured with the ap. at 1/250 and the f stop at 18 and the iso at 100.

Some Peace of Mind...
So I have debated about putting our blog to private. It is creepy to think about strangers looking at our family. But the worst thing is to be blog surfing, find a long lost friend's blog and have it be private. Also I keep my blog going mostly for family that don't get to see the happenings of our family. I think it would make it more difficult for them also. So to give me peace of mind, Shaun has set up Google Analytic. It is really cool. It tells you how many hits you had on your page, where they came from, and how long they stayed on the site. Shaun and I checked this out the other day and our site is like 70% referral hits, meaning people came to our site from other blogs, and 30% direct site hits. We can see if someone google searched something and then clicked on our site and what they searched for. Kind of creepy we had to 2 hits less than a second long from google search for going potty. But there you go. Now you can see if there is anything suspicious going on and change your blog accordingly. GO check it out!

I think one of my favorite things to do is redo my bedroom. I once heard that if you are in need of a makeover, do your bedroom. It is the room you are in the most and want to feel good in because that is where you sleep. Plus that is where the romance happens. So you need to create a room where you can feel at ease. Anyways, Shaun once mentioned to me that he really wants an all white bed. Meaning sheets and comforter. At first I thought how boring, but after getting some fun ideas I saw this room and really started to like the idea. She did this whole room on a budget which is my favorite part.
KD girl's room Ideas
So our family is in a transition stage right now. Which is driving me NUTS! I feel so unsettled. So to help keep myself busy I am looking at how I am going to decorate my new place. Here are some Ideas I have for KD's room.
-both photos above are from pottery barn kids.
I love the Tree in the picture on the right. And I am pretty sure it will be easy for me to recreate.I am just unsure if KD will like it or find it annoying. She is very opinionated. Even as I sit here looking for ideas she is pointing at pictures say "Mom I want that."

Sneak Peak
These are some other ones I have edited but haven't posted on the family blog yet. Not sure which ones will make it. ooh the suspense. Most were edited using actions from pioneer woman and coffee shop free actions for photoshop.
In this photo I learned how to enhance his eyes by using a unsharpened brush in photoshop. I was really excited about this one.

It is probably only me that can tell the real differences between these pictures. I did a lot of editing on these. Brightened the eyes, soften skin tones, and messed around with the lighting a lot to try to make it the best possible portrait it can be. It helps to see them here side by side to determine which one does justice to show off how truly cute these kids are.
How to make your blog pictures bigger.
So I have had several people ask me about how I made my blog pictures bigger. I know there are several different ways like using photobucket, but I think it is way to much work. Well I found this blog that made it simple to understand, even for someone like me that has a short attention span for following instructions. You will just change the code in your new post page under the edit html tab. Here is the link for further instructions.

Have fun show casing your pictures.
